CUSTOMIZED DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A Protective Security Officer (PSO) is uniformed or plain-clothed and is armed. Uniform selection varies on region and assignment. Selection of firearms varies and includes pistol, shotgun, rifle or specialty weapons based on mission requirement and threat assessment. The PSO is primarily responsible for protecting life and ensuring the safety of persons he/she is assigned to protect. This is accomplished by countering, deterring, detecting, and responding to threats to personnel or property as required by the task order. PSO's can be tasked to provide protective services, escort, advanced security operations, and/or quick reaction force functions. PSO operate domestically or aboard and can operate individually or as a unit.

VEHICLE ESCORT PSO

Vehicle escort personnel will protect motorcade vehicles and personnel from attack, assassination, kidnapping, injury, and embarrassment. PSO will provide general convoy security (vehicular and personnel) and protect personnel from terrorist or criminal attacks during travel to and from destinations and provide over-watch security while the client is engaged in the performance of their respective duties.

ADVANCED / FORWARD OPERATIONS PSO

PSO performing advance/forward duties will coordinate with the project leader and vehicle escort team leader regarding planned destinations and areas of interest using intelligence information and other means within acceptable protocol to determine threats, hostile areas, routes, alternative routes and evacuation plans to and from destinations and provide fire support and additional assistance to primary escort personnel to ensure the safety and operational security of all vehicles/personnel.

FIRE SUPPORT / QRF

PSO assigned to fire support/QRF duties will protect designated personnel from terrorist or criminal attacks and will physically protect designated personnel, properties, facilities, and materials from criminal and/or terrorist attacks. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, actions to counter, deter, and detect threats through physical over-watch, site access control, static and mobile surveillance, and foot/vehicle patrol activities. In addition, QRF will respond to advance and escort teams request for fire support. Other tasking and duties can be provided and are subject to client approval and threat assessment.
